Youngstown certainly has its share of daunting economic problems, but that’s no reason to neglect its arts and culture — which in any case are key elements in making any city a more appealing location to live.
The annual Mad About the Arts party at the McDonough Museum of Art on the Youngstown State University campus benefits the museum, Center for Contemporary Ideas, Art, Education, and Community, and public radio station 88.5 WYSU, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The evening features acoustic jazz by the David Lynn Trio, the opportunity to see the museum’s current exhibits, beverages, hors d’oeuvres and desserts, and dancing to live music by the Sensations in a tented pavilion on the patio.
.Admission is $75, $50 for WYSU and museum members, staff, faculty and students.
