Apollo’s Fire’s Season Opener Celebrates 25 Years in Akron

Tue 10/1 @ 7:30PM

While its regular series of concerts begins in mid-October, Apollo’s Fire, Cleveland’s baroque orchestra, launches 2019-2020 with a special concert to celebrate its 25 years of performing in Akron. It will perform a special one-time performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons — Rediscovered at Bath Church UCC.

Vivaldi’s Four Seasons will feature five AF regulars as soloists: rotating concertmasters Olivier Brault and Alan Choo on violins, René Schiffer and Ezra Seltzer on cellos, and Apollo’s Fire founding member and principal flutist Kathie Stewart on traverso. In addition, Schiffer and Seltzer will be featured in Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos.

There’ll be a post-concert reception and festive toast following the concert. Tickets are $31-$72; students are $10.

Appropriately, Apollo’s Fire will launch Echoes of Venice, the first program of its regular season, at Bath Church UCC on Thu 10/17.
