21-Piece Gabriel’s Horns Blow the Roof Off the BOP STOP

Sat 8/31 @ 8PM

The BOP STOP will be bursting with music when the 21-piece ensemble Gabriel’s Horns brings its ecstatic, high-energy blend of big band jazz and blues that it calls “jazz praise” music to the venue.

Bandleader James T. May Jr. leads a group of musicians, which includes both professionals and amateurs, educators and gifted young people. The busy ensemble has performed all over northeast Ohio at festivals and places of worship, at Severance Hall’s MLK Day celebration, Ingenuity and the Cleveland Museum of Art, among other venues.

When they perform at the BOP STOP, featured performers include blues/jazz vocalist Ron Davis, saxophonist Chris Coles, pianist Jonathan Hooper and guest jazz trumpeter Daniel Spearman. They’ll be joining the group to perform music by such artists as Count Basie, Miles Davis, Joe Williams and Wayne Shorter.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
