Summer Farmers Markets Open Around the Region This Week

Sustenance

June is bustin’ out all over — and so are farmers markets. While a few, such as the main North Union Markets are Crocker Park and Shaker Square run year-round and a few, such as the Tremont Farmers Market in Lincoln Park, get an early start, most of them open in the next few weeks, now that the possibility of snow is passed (we hope) and farmers are harvesting their early groups. As of the next couple of weeks, there’ll be a plethora of new choices of where to spend your grocery money.

All of the North Union satellite markets open in the next two weeks, with the Cleveland Clinic market on Wed 6/1 @ 10:30am-1:30pm; the University Hospitals market on Thu 6/2 10:30am-1:30pm; the downtown Chagrin Falls market Sun 6/5 @ 10am-1pm; Cleveland Clinic Beachwood Wed 6/8 @ 10:30am-1:30pm; and Playhouse Square Thu 6/9 @ 10:30am-1:30pm.

And a brand-new market will launch this week too. The Village Market on Fleet Avenue and E. 52nd Street in Slavic Village, an outdoor food, farmers and handcrafted makers market, will hold its first market Mon 6/6 @ 4-7pm and every Monday through the end of August. It will be closed Mon 7/4. It will also host a City Fresh CSA; more details here.
