You weren’t going to go out and buy hostas and lilies for your garden, were you? Those are the kinds of perennial plants almost every home gardener has too many of.
The Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market has found a solution that matches up those who have with those who don’t: its perennial exchange. You dig up plants, divide them, water them, put them in containers (clean dairy containers are fine) and bring them down to the market. New gardeners are welcome too; old-timers are glad to share both plants and advice. The only rule is no selling, just trading and giving.
This week’s market will also feature music by one of the area’s most outstanding singer/songwriter/guitarists Diana Chittester, and of course, plenty of vendors with piles of locally grown and produced foods, artisans and craftspeople.
