Tartine Bistro has a continental feel inside and out. Its sidewalk dining space fronts on a pedestrian street of small shops just across the Lakewood border in Downtown Rocky River. The comfortable dim simplicity of its interior complements the selective, well-prepared French-influenced menu on which nothing is too big, too heavy, or too expensive. A cheese platter features craft cheeses from France, Holland — and the Lake Erie Creamery on Cleveland’s west side.
Michael Grieve took over as executive chef in March 2016, adding a lot of seafood specialties to the menu and a focus on keeping enhancements to a minimum so the flavor of the ingredient can shine through. Tartine Bistro’s well-appointed bar is a romantic meeting spot for grownups, not rowdy bros. Listen to owner John McDonnell as he talks about Tartine Bistro and Cleveland Restaurant Week here.
