About: Award-winning biographer and historian Daniel Stashower, presented by the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities at Case Western Reserve University, will discuss the riveting true story of “The Baltimore Plot,” a little-known plan to assassinate Abraham Lincoln as his train made its way from Springfield, Ill., to Washington, D.C., for his presidential inauguration.
Stashower, the author of six nonfiction works, including his latest to be published this month—The Hour of Peril: The Secret Plot to Murder Lincoln Before the Civil War—will discuss the plot on Monday, Feb. 4, at 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein Building, 2103 Cornell Rd. on the Case Western Reserve campus. A book signing will follow the talk.
