The scoop: “The goal for the DIY Urbanism Design Competition is to support concepts for temporary urban projects for public spaces, specifically on-street parking spots, in our neighborhood. We hope to identify the most creative proposals for temporary installations at the event which will enhance the use, perception and enjoyment of these particular public spaces in Old Brooklyn. Proposals may vary in content from architectural, fine art or related fields, but must be illustrated for the specific context of an on-street parking spot. Accepted proposals will be built and installed for the Pop UP Pearl event on May 19, 2012.”
