Les Délices’ next program, titled Bohemian Rhapsody (not the Queen song!), is a hybrid, offering composed works mingling with traditional Czech folk tunes arranged for a quarter of oboe, violin, viola and cello. They’ll play pieces by two late 18th/early 19th century Czech contemporaries Franz Krommer and Georg Druschetzky, Bohemian composer/singer/pianist Katerina Victoria Dusikova-Cianchettini, and a noted Austrian contemporary — Mozart —whose 1781 Quartet for Oboe & Strings in F Major will close the evening. Musicians include oboist/director Debra Nagy, violinist Shelby Yamin, violist Yaël Senamaud and cellist Rebecca Landell.
They’ll perform at Akron’s Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday October 17; at Forest Hill Church in Cleveland Heights on Saturday October 18; and at West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Rocky River on Sunday October 19. Get tickets here.
