Get on Your Feet with Da Land Brass Band at Beachland Tavern

Fri 1/19 @ 8PM

There are few types of music more infectious than the New Orleans-style brass band, an ensemble typically composed of numerous horn and percussion players, with another instrumental occasionally through in. But this type of music is all about the rhythm of the percussion and the driving, ebullient sparkle of the brass.

For many years, Cleveland danced to the sounds of the Revolution Brass Band. Now there’s a newcomer — the humorously dubbed Da Land Brass Band — which has lately been bringing that energy to events such as Brite Winter, FireFish Tri-C JazzFest and the Waterloo Arts Fest. They’ve also been in the studio recording some of their own tunes, three of which they’ll debut at the Beachland this weekend.

They’ll be joined by the equally beat-driven, dance-inducing duo of trumpet/keyboard player wave Magnetik and vocalists Rowanne Atallah, and another duo Factual Brains, who play electronics-laced, punk-influenced indie rock. Go here for tickets.
