Get a Sneak Peak at Heights Arts' Next "Close Encounters" Concert at Open Rehearsal

Mon 5/11 @ 6PM

Heights Arts’ Close Encounters series offers classical music fans the opportunity to see small ensembles of some of the area’s top musicians (often moonlighting Cleveland Orchestra members) in intimate settings.

There’s another chance for those fans to hear the musicians in an even more intimate — and casual — setting. It’s called “Open Rehearsals” and it takes place in the Heights Arts gallery as the musicians prepare for their upcoming show.

This Monday May 11, the Taplin Quartet — violinists Katherine Bormann and Jeff Zehngut, violist Gareth Zehngut and cellist Nora Willauer — will prepare for their Sunday May 17 concert at a private home in Shaker Heights, and you’re invited to listen in on their creative process and learn how they work together as they rehearse for a performance called ‘Bach and Beyond.” It celebrates J.S. Bach’s chorales arranged for a string quartet, along with Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet Op 76, No. 5 and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 10 aka the Harp Quartet.. RSVP here.
