Maybe he’s just picking up some holiday gift money, but crooner Chris Isaak, whose style of vaguely rootsy balladeering harks back to the ’50s (as does his carefully groomed image), seems to go on the road for a spell at the end of every year. And like last year, he’s coming back to this area to play the Kent Stage.
Isaak made splash in the mid-late ’80s with his hit “Wicked Game” and music in the soundtrack of David Lynch’s cult film Blue Velvet. With his retro good looks, he’s also done some acting including in the Lynch film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. Their sensibilities mesh well.
Isaak’s continued to release lower-profile albums like 2011’s Beyond the Sun, with a well-established fan base to support him.
