The piano pop trio Return of Simple was part of Cleveland’s indie rock scene for eight years before playing their final gig seven years ago. In that time they released a single EP, called Saffron, in 2006, before calling it quits in spring 2011. The group revolved around the piano, vocals and songs of Rob Kovacs who has since performed extensively as a solo artist and sideman.
Now we’re about to see the return of Return of Simple. Kovacs has an all-new lineup featuring Alfredo Guerrieri and Stephen Klunk. The ensemble is working on a new release, but until then, they’re promising to play a mix of old and new songs
For their re-emergence, the band s playing a the Grog Shop with Extra Medium Pony, Kitschy and Hanna Stak. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
