Emerging Singer-Songwriter Laura Brabson Performs Folknet Concert in Kent

Sun 10/5 @ 7PM

Barberton-based singer/songwriter Lauren Brabson is a new face in the local acoustic singer/songwriter scene but she’s already starting to make a name for herself with regional tours and several releases under her belt, er …guitar strap. She has put out three EPS —Sad Girl Blues and Gypsy in 2022, and Hey, It’s Lauren in 2024 —as well as a 2024 single titled “Matriarch.”

She says she’s passionate about telling stories about everyday life in her songs, loves to backpack and hang out with her dog, and promote the local music scene, helping to promote other musicians and local venues.

That’s likely how she hooked up with Folknet, the long-running Northeast Ohio nonprofit that supports the local acoustic music scene. She’ll be performing as part of its concert series, in Kent at Standing Rock Cultural Arts. Suggested donation at the door is $15 for non-members;$12 for members;  $5 additional for all children in a family with a responsible adult.
