Starting in early September, noted Brazilian muralist Eduardo Kobra has been on Public Square, creating a new 11,000-foot artwork on the 55 Public Square Garage to celebrate the area’s rock & roll history. It’s a project that area street art nonprofit Graffiti HeArt, with Downtown Cleveland, Inc. and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, have been working on for three years.
To celebrate the project, Graffiti HeArt will be holding a party at its space on Superior Avenue and East 49th Street on Friday September 11. There’ll be drinks and appetizers, as well as live music performances by two Brazilian guitarists/singers/songwriters who make their home in Cleveland: Luca Mundaca and Moises Borges. Best of all, people will be able to meet Kobra. It’s free but reservations are required, and donations are appreciated for Graffiti HeArt’s artist scholarship program,
Then, on Tuesday September 15, there’ll be an official ribbon-cutting at the mural site on Public Square. All are welcome to join the celebration.
