Cleveland Heights quintet With Windswept Hair describes itself as an “indie/art/pop band.” They’re pretty new on the scene, having been working together as an ensemble since 2023. Now they’re releasing the result of their work with the physical release of their debut album Hanging by a Thread, which they’ll be presenting with a show at the Grog Shop.
They’ll be joined by “Southern gothic soul” band Slow Groove Kings, and the husband-wife band By Light We Loom, which was making waves in the area a decade ago but say they had hit a creative rut in 2024 and took a break. With Eric Ling and Shanna Delaney now joined by Evan Storey and Jesse Scaggs, the duo (which was formerly augmented by electronic looping) has become a live quartet. They reworked the old music for the new format and debuted it last year, and they plan to release new music this year.
