For ten years, Akron Soul Train has been sharing its distinctive mission with area lovers of the arts: it gives artists in a variety of disciplines short “residencies” to complete a specific project which it showcases either at its downtown Akron galleries or at one of hits partner arts organizations. Many of its projects are cross-disciplinary and many offer, in addition to performances, workshops and other interactive events.
It’s celebrating it’s 10 years with its spring Its Where Artists Bloom benefit, taking place at Jilly’s Music Room. The money raised will help keep the money flowing for these creative projects. The low-cost fundraiser will include two live music performances, a raffle basket with items from local artists and organizations, and the chance to meet and mingle with others in Akron’s arts community.
