We’re never surprised when we hear that the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is (almost inevitably) extending one of its popular special attractions such as Wild Winter Lights, currently brightening up dark Cleveland evenings. So now it will add three January evenings to its schedule, originally scheduled to end December 30. It will instead wrap up with three additional dates, Friday January 2-Sunday January 4.
While the days are now getting longer (but not nearly fast enough), Wild Winter Lights uplifts spirit and helps chase away the winter blahs. More than 1.5 million lights are arranged in a variety of themed scenes, including Magical Storybook, Glittering Galaxy, Frosty Lane, Swan Lake, Colorful Forest and Santa’s North Pole Lodge. Strollers can meet Santa at Santa’s Lodge and grab a photo; take a free carousel ride; meet costumed characters; see model train displays; and watch a musical light show with a 50-foot tree. There’ll also be wintery treats available including Jack Frost Donuts, Kernels by Chrissie (popcorn) and hot chocolate.
