Usually, one thinks of spring as the big planting season, and most of the major plant says are held in May, but many perennials can go in the ground in the fall — just give them time to establish before the ground freezes. So the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes in holding a fall plant sale so you can start to think now about how you want your garden to look next year.
The fall perennial sale features a selection of Ohio native perennial plants suited for fall planting, including those not usually available at spring plant sales. Local businesses who will be providing native plants include nursery vendors Meadow City Native Plants, Avonlea Gardens and Inn, and Cuyahoga Master Gardeners, plus others. The sale takes place in the pavilion, with free admission. There’s a members preview from 9-9:30am.
