Delve into Day of the Dead Arts at Pivot Center’s Family Fun Day

Sun 11/2 @ 1-4PM

Did you take your kids to Dia de Muertos in Gordon Square on Saturday November 1, and they got excited about the colorful masks, costumes, puppets and altars they saw there? Fuel their creativity by bringing them to the Cleveland Museum of Art’s monthly family fun day at its Community Arts Center at the Pivot Center.

The Mexican Committee of Cleveland has partnered with CMA to offer activities, including games, movement-based activities and art making. Experts will be on hand to share the history behind the Day of the Dead and the meaning of its symbolism. Dancers will be performing on an “ephemeral sawdust carpet,” a Guatemalan tradition in which temporary designs are traced in layers of sawdust, and visitors can print their own skull design with guidance from Future Ink Graphics. It’s free and open to people of all ages and abilities.
