The Cleveland Music Community was shocked by the sudden death of 24-year-old Michael LoConti in a car accident in February. Michael was the drummer for Cleveland’s rapidly rising band LoConti which also featured his brother Henry on guitar and lead vocals. The young band, formed in 2022, had forged a sound that drew on elements of classic and contemporary rock and blended them in a way that appealed to a wide age range of listeners and quickly made them much in demand for a festivals, concert series and special events. They had already released two albums and a pair of EPs, and were recording a new album at the time of Michael’s passing and fortunately most of his drum tracks were completed.
His family has now founded the Michael LoConti Music Foundation to provide music education and other resources to families that have experienced the loss of a family member, using music as a tool for healing.
