Guitarist/composer Carl Baldassarre has been kicking around the area music scene for a long time, and in the last several years, he’s had a new surge of energy, raising his profile to higher heights.
Baldassarre studied composition at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and was part of the area’s prog rock scene with bands such as Abraxas and Syzygy starting in 1979. In that time he’s released ten albums and more than 130 songs. More recently, he’s rolled out several band configurations including a distinctive Led Zeppelin/classic rock tribute through the lens of his own musical history, and the Baldassarre Rock Orchestra, which performs the many compositions he’s been writing recently
He’s bringing the orchestra to the Beachland Ballroom for an evening that celebrates his 45 years in music. It will feature original music, both vocal and instrumental, some of which appeared on his recent album and other pieces which will be new to the audience.
“This show at the Beachland will be a ‘storyteller through music’ show’,” says Baldassarre. I have had a long and wild ride in my life, and it all comes out in the wide variety of my music and songs to be performed at the Beachland on August 23.”
