Cleveland Orchestra and Guests Fill Mandel Concert Hall with Holiday Sounds

Thu 12/8-Sun 12/11

Thu 12/15-Sun 12/18

You won’t encounter anything surprising or challenging at the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus’s annual Holiday Concerts at Severance Center’s Mandel Concert Hall. As usual, it will be a starry evening of familiar carols and music associated with the holidays, propelled by the vocal power of not only the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, but also members of the Blossom Music Festival Chorus, and guest choruses at different concerts including the Cleveland Orchestra Children’s Chorus, the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus Chamber Ensemble and the Wooster Chorus of The College of Wooster. And there’s even a soprano soloist, Mikaela Bennett.

If that’s not enough, there’ll probably be an opportunity for a sing-along. And we wouldn’t keel over with surprise if that “special guest from the North Pole” showed up. So wear your elf hat. Brett Mitchell, former music director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, conducts the whole shebang.
