Ask anyone in the suburbs about Hough, and all they can probably come up with is the race riots in 1966. Cleveland’s once-dominant industrial might had fled for cheaper and less experienced labor, and the city’s near-East-side neighborhood began the long process of rebuilding.
Flash forward to the 21st century, and Hough is one of the city’s fastest growing neighborhoods, with century homes being restored, mixed-use and retail popping up across from the Cleveland Clinic, and attractions like Goldhorn Brewery, Dunham Tavern Museum, the Vineyards and Winery at Chateau Hough and the historic League Park attracting additional development.
