Celebrate the Season at Main Street Kent’s Oktoberfest

Sat 9/25 @ noon-10PM

It’s time to celebrate, not grieve, the onset of cooler weather, with a harvest festival, or maybe an Oktoberfest.

Main Street Kent at your service! They’ve partnered with Cleveland-based Platform Brewery to present the annual Main Street Kent Oktoberfest. And knowing that everyone is trying to get in as many outdoor events as possible after a long shutdown 18 months and the potential of a pandemic surge shutdown this winter (please get vaxxed!) they’ve expanded it from Franklin Avenue to include a section of West Main Street and the Hometown Bank Plaza.

There will be local eateries outside, selling Germany specialties they’ve prepared just for the occasion, including Erie Street Kitchen, Ray’s Place, GRAZERS, Scratch, Popped!, and others . There’ll also be seasonal beverages, both alcoholic and non-. That’s in addition to Platform’s three beer trucks featuring their special autumn libations. Cash only, please.

Is there entertainment? You bet! It starts, appropriately, with music to polka to by the Mike Wojtila Trio, with dancing from the German Family Society Youth Group from noon-3pm; the Brent Kirby Trio @3:30, the Buffalo Ryders @ 5:30 and closing things down, Kent favorites going back to the mid-80s , the Twistoffs, @ 8pm.

Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Main Street Kent organization. Please leave your dog at home unless it’s a service animal.
