The Whiskey Island Paddlefest features a day of paddleboard and kayak races with course of different lengths, including youth and kids’ races: more than a dozen in all. They’re mostly for fun, open to all skill levels. Registration fee is $40 in advance, $45 day of event, youth 9-11 are $15 in advance, $20 day of event, which includes lunch and a promotional item. And if you don’t want to compete, but just want to watch and enjoy a nice day outside, the Whiskey Island Paddleboard festival is free for all. There are various “try it” activities so you can see if you’d like to race next year, including a kayak clinic, sailing, All Aboard Open Paddle, yoga and slacklining. During the All Aboard Open Paddle, they’ll be seeing how many people they can get on the water for a photo. There’s live music, vendors and exhibitors, cornhole, jenga and food trucks too.
