PHOTOSTREAM: @MaltzMuseum Previews Upcoming Exhibit Violins of Hope

The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage held a media event to preview its groundbreaking upcoming show, Violins of Hope. Opening Fri 10/2, the exhibit will feature 20 violins the survived the Holocaust, part of a collection of such violins restored by Tel Aviv-based violinmaker Amnon Weinstein. During the course of the show, which runs through 1/3/16, there will be education programs for school children, concerts with Cleveland institute of Music students and Cleveland Orchestra members playing the violins, and other special events.

At the media event, museum founder Milt Maltz spoke along with representatives from some of the other institutions co-sponsoring Violins of Hope, including chairman of the board of the Cleveland Orchestra Richard Bogomolny and Case Western Reserve president Barbara Snyder. Other partnering organizations include the Cleveland Institute of Music, Facing History and Ourselves, ideastream and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
