It’s been more than eight years since Cleveland-based blues legend Robert Lockwood Jr. died at the age of 91, taking a big piece of the area’s blues history with him.
And still — there are plenty of other area musicians carrying the flame. They include his old band, the Robert Lockwood Jr. All Stars, as well as artists like drummer Vernon Jones’ Blues Cartel (pictured), both of whom perform classic blues repertoire in traditional styles.
Both bands will be taking the stage for a long night of big, rollicking electric blues at the Beachland Ballroom.
