With just two people, Los Angeles-based Honeyhoney produces music with a homespun, casual aura. Ben Jaffe plays guitar and Suzanne Santo plays fiddle and banjo while the two twine their voices in what their bio describes as a “sexually tinged, bruised knee honeysuckle take on roots music.”
The group got some initial buzz for being plugged into the Hollywood scene. Their debut album in 2008 came out on a vanity label run by actors Jude Cole and Keifer Sutherland. And the 29-year-old Santo (a Clevelander) has done some acting as well. But their music has a ring of truth that makes it clear they’re much more than attractive faces sporting designer Dust Bowl fashions for Vogue.
They’ll be performing a late show at the Music Box Super Club with Ryan Joseph Anderson opening.
