There will be good vibes in abundance throughout Akron’s Musica complex during an all-day-and-well-into-the-evening free event called the Big Love Community Festival.
The organizers say that their aim is to “celebrate our art, our music, our dance, our food, our spirits, and connection!
“This community festival encourages collaboration and the ability to share our passion and compassion with each other,” they promise.
The jam-packed event will include food, poetry, yoga, chanting, meditation, dance, performance painting, kids’ activities, hands-on arts and crafts, face painting, hula hooping, healthy living and community organizing workshops, and an all-day line-up of music.
The performers include, of course, Akron’s premier musical spreader of good vibes (and one of the co-organizers of the festival) Zach Freidhof, with his band the Bright Lights, along with a slew of northeast Ohio talent: Winslow, Umojah Nation, Emma Shepard, Diana Chittester, Jovan Wilder & the Wild Things, Tall Tales of Akron, The Help, Acid Cats, the Poplars, and Time Cat, plus performance painters Ursula Rauh and Todd V, and poet T.M. Gottl.
