The building just east of the intersection of Detroit Avenue and Berea Road housed an Italian restaurant since the mid 20th century. It was long known as Palmina’s and later Palazzo, before closing in 2002. It was reborn in March 2019, reviving the Palazzo name, as an upscale — guess what? — Italian restaurant, after being purchased by Rafael Zaloshnja whose resume includes Heck’s, the Beachcliff Tavern and Luca.
The menu features all the pasta-based favorites and popular Italian entrees one would expect, along with salads, antipasti, pizza and desserts. The comfortably familiar choices are made from scratch with high-quality ingredients.
