Opera Weekend at Gordon Square

Fri 4/19 @7:30PM

Sun 4/21 @ 3PM

Gordon Square is becoming quite the place to go for classical music, with classical ensembles playing at the Happy Dog, the upcoming Cleveland Orchestra residency in the neighborhood next month, and this weekend, opera at Cleveland Public Theatre.

Cleveland’s Opera per Tutti (“opera for all”) aims to take away some of the intimidation factor from opera and introduce new audiences to the art form. It’s staged performances in high schools, restaurants, churches, community theaters, and the Italian Cultural Garden in Rockefeller Park.

Opera per Tutti returns to CPT with a pairing of two contrasting short operas by Puccini often performed together: the teary, sentimental Suor Angelica and the comedic Gianni Schicchi.

Tickets are $25. Formal dress is emphatically not required.
