About:
Dexter Davis assembles his work with cautious dissonance, gathering impressions in different media and suggesting a life as a difficult, yet enchanting construction. He collages relief prints, monotypes, and found fragments of printed images, and draws upon them to create portraits and masks. He suggests himself with the work, but mostly in a way that teases, but does not tell.
