Cleveland isn’t the hub of major corporate headquarters anymore, the way it was back in its heyday. But people are often surprised to learn that one company still located here is the DayGlo Color Corporation, whose fluorescent paints have become such an industry standard that people use their name generically to refer to these colors.
Several years ago, Doubting Thomas Gallery in Tremont organized the first annual DayGlo show, challenging 40 local artists to create work using DayGlo paints. It moved across town to Waterloo Arts last year. This year, it’s again at Waterloo Arts for its fifth iteration, which will include paintings as well as three-dimensional work. The opening, taking place during Walk All Over Waterloo, offers an opportunity to see these unusual art works under black light. It runs through Sun 2/12.
