Transitions

08.31-09.07.22

Some transitions take time.
As CoolCleveland celebrates 20 years, we’ve witnessed a sea change in our region’s attitude towards itself. Not too long ago, the concept of buying local was offered as a balance to spending money at big box stores and online. Now even Hale Farm hosts Made in Ohio for local makers.Equity issues have come into focus as WRHS honors Black journalists. Flea markets used to be a rural oddity; this week the Peninsula Flea concludes another fabulous season.

Our industrial legacy relied on major institutions for innovation; now smaller startups are leading the way. Akron Soul Train features two veteran artists and one who’s emerging. Lit Cleveland’s Inkubator goes live at CPL this week. Yards Project presents 15 emerging and established visual artists who manipulate text.

Get outside this week and follow CoolCleveland’s suggestions for enjoying the weather and changing the world. Any change that’s going to happen will come from you. Take your time. We’re all counting on you.
