Follow acclaimed wildlife filmmaker Martin Dohrn as he attempts to record all the bee species in his tiny urban garden in Bristol, England during the lockdown. He fashions one-of-a-kind lenses and catalogs more than 60 different species from Britain’s largest bumblebee to scissor bees the size of a mosquito in the PBS Nature special event.
Admission to My Garden of a Thousand Bees is included in general admission to the museum, and is now playing in Murch Auditorium through 09.30. Read more.
The Assembly for the Arts, the NE Ohio nonprofit advocacy group of the arts, has announced that ARPA funding is available to for-profit arts businesses and creative workers who lost income during the pandemic. Applications are being accepted now. Read more.
Fifty years ago then-Congressman Louis Stokes launched an annual Labor Day event that quickly became one of the biggest Northeast Ohio events on that day, especially in the Black community.
What’s now the 11th Congressional District Community Caucus Labor Day Parade & Festival was hosted by his successors, Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Marcia Fudge, and this year, for the first time officially, Shontel Brown. After the lengthy parade down Kinsman arrives at Luke Easter Park, there’ll be food, vendors, kids activities and lots of politicians to meet and greet. Read more.
