Tremont’s little convergence-continuum theater continues its 2022 season, dubbed “Societies in Question,” with another of its offbeat, thought-provoking contemporary productions.
This time it’s presenting Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom, by Los Angeles-based playwright Jennifer Haley, whose special interest is the impact of technology on the ways we think and live. It debuted in 2008 at Actors Theater of Louisville at the Humana Festival of New American Plays.
The plot description says, “In a suburban subdivision with identical houses, parents find their teenagers addicted to an online horror video game. The game setting? A subdivision with identical houses. The goal? Smash through an army of zombies to escape the neighborhood for good. But as the line blurs between virtual and reality, both parents and players realize that fear has a life of its own.”
The show runs Thursday-Saturday, August 26-September 17, at c-c’s home, the Liminis. It’s $23 general admission, $18 for seniors and students. Go to convergence-continuum.org for tickets.
