Riverdog Barn Faves from Michigan, Dave Boutette & Kristi Davis, Are Back

Wed 8/31 @ 7:30PM

Michigan husband-and-wife musicians Dave Boutette and Kristi Lynn Davis are stalwarts at Lorain County’s Riverdog Barn, even venturing down to play there in the venue’s aborted 2020 when the concerts were moved to the socially distanced meadow and since few touring acts were on the road, most of the schedule featured local talent. Now they’ll be making their eighth appearance there. Boutette was the first artist the venue booked back in 2014.

Boutette, a veteran of a decade with Detroit’s Junk Monkeys from the mid ’80s to the mid ’90s, gravitated to the acoustic singer/songwriter scene once that band broke up. Since then he’s focused on sharpening his formidable songwriting skills, turning out tunes drenched in American roots genres such as folk, blues and traditional country.  His wife Kristi Davis, a singer/dancer who has been a Radio City Rockette and a member of Playboy’s Girls on Rock ad Roll, is also a strong songwriter.

Opening the evening will be Dave Parsh and Friends, “friends” being Mark McNulty, Dave Mann Wolff and Rick Hetsko, described by the Riverdog folks as “longtime pickers who have meshed well at some of our pandemic song-circles and are actually now a band.” Since most have played with Dave and Kristi before, they hint that some show-closing jamming is likely to happen.

Doors open at 6 pm for hanging out before the show; concert goers are, as always, welcome to bring a picnic basket and cooler. Tickets are $20.  Reserve them here.
