VIDEO: A Play Date at CPH
Theatre Fun for Kids (and Parents!)

They’ve cracked the code. The Cleveland Play House, newly relocated to PlayhouseSquare has figured out two things: how to make it possible for theatre fans with small kids to actually spend an afternoon watching a play, while at the same time instilling in the next generation an understanding and passion for theatre. How did they do it? Welcome to Play Date.

Watch the video as CPH’s Director of Education and her team show us how they’ve set up a highly supervised and educational play area where parents can drop off their young kids on Sun 11/27 and Sun 1/15, while they enjoy the theatre uninterrupted and guilt-free. Watch the video here.

In its assessment of Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer, the Saturday Review observed, “who touches this book touches living tissue.” These same words could be applied to displaced Cleveland native Scott Raab’s remarkable The Whore of Akron — a visceral and raucously funny rant that’s more about Raab himself than it is about his target of disdain, LeBron James.

And that’s a good thing, because less is more than enough when it comes to the duplicitous hoopster… Read more from Larry Durstin here

MANSFIELD: How Progressives Can Still Manage to Lose at the Grassroots Level I would caution your use of the word “progressives” in regards to the supporters of SB 5. Unions aren’t necessarily progressive today. They certainly have been in the past, but today I’d argue that their main goal is fighting for their own membership, not progressive ideals per se…
