Screentime

It may seem that we’re encouraging you to sit in front of your computer, what with our videos this week of the Maltz’s new Project Mah Jongg & Holden Arboretum, and our live video from the Opening Night of the Film Fest on Thu 3/22 at 6:45PM here. But to the contrary, what we’d really love is for you to limit your screen time, and get out to some of these venues. Hopefully you’re inspired, as we are, by our preternaturally warm weather.

You might be interested in the Dance Dance Party Party, Collinwood’s new creative home, or one of the recommended selections we’ve curated for your enjoyment this week. Use your screen time judiciously, and we’ll see you out and about. –Thomas Mulready

Dance Dance Party Party Akron
No Booze, No Boys, No Judgement

Three simple rules: no booze, no boys and no judgments (legwarmers optional).

That’s the motto of Dance Dance Party Party (DDPP), where women of all ages and walks of life dress comfortably and get together to turn the lights down low and the music up loud, refrain from talking and judging, and let loose on the dance floor for an hour. Unlike a typical workout or dance class, DDPP has no instructors and no expectations, allowing the dancers to choose how much effort they want to put into it.

Sound interesting? They have a Spring Social coming up on Fri 3/30 from 7:30-9:30PM featuring the music of Madonna and Michael Jackson, and it’s the perfect opportunity for any woman to get acquainted with DDPP and bust a move. But, more on that later…

Check out this exclusive Cool Cleveland video where correspondent Brit Charek interviews DDPP den mother, Joanna Wilson.
