The Akron Art Museum’s February series Midwinter Blues & Other Tunes moves into its second week — and the theme for the week is “Zap.” Taking place once again, online, over three evenings, it once again features a local entrepreneur on Tuesday, a visual artist on Wednesday and a musical artist (actually two this week) in Thursday.
On Tuesday February 16, meet the folks behind Crafty Mart, which sponsors markets featuring local makers in normal times and promotes those makers online as well. On Wednesday February 17 you can meet Cleveland-born painter Bianca Fields as she shows off her vividly colored, densely textured acrylics, oils and sculptures which draw on pop culture imagery. And on Thursday February 18, you can hear music from two Cleveland artists: one-woman band Uno Lady, who makes music by processing her own voice, and dreamy/prog rock-influenced quartet Oregon Space Trail of Doom.
