Pagan Pride Festival Celebrates Nature-Based Spiritualities

Fri 8/16-Sun 8/18

The annual Pagan Pride weekend, taking place at Bedford’s city square, is an annual celebration of nature-based spirituality in all its various forms. It features three days of music and dance performances, drum circles, workshops and vendors offering herbs, candles, clothing and other “new age” type items.

It kicks off with an opening drum circle at 5pm Friday, followed by a broom dance with the Crooked River Crones at 7. On Saturday, the noon opening ceremony features Coven of the Sky Goddess, followed by a day of performances by ensembles such as the Crooked River Crones, the Cowboy Princess Brigage, and — yes, they’re everywhere — local bluesy soulful rockers Apostle Jones, as well as an open drum circle at 3:30pm. Coven of the Sky Goddess will again launch things on Sunday at noon, followed by more dance and music performances until Coven does the farewell closing at 6pm.

Workshops on Saturday and Sunday cover topics such as Druidry, candle painting, the Womb of Initiation, Spellwork for New Witches, Political Magic, Knot Magic, and Introduction to Thelemic Rituals.

Pagan Pride is free and open to all.
