Community Railroad Safety Day is a family-oriented event hosted by the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, with Operation Lifesaver Inc., Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the Conservancy for CVNP, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department, Akron Children’s Hospital, the Valley View Fire Department, and the TSA.
People of all ages will be able to explore CVSR’s historic railcars and learn about what emergency and service vehicles do. There’ll be some of those “touch-a-truck”-type opportunities kids just love. The interactive safety trailer will present demonstrations and hands-on activities about how to be safe around trains and train tracks.
