Wed 6/24 @ 6PM
Ever heard of “plogging”? No, it’s not some nasty sex act. In fact, it’s good for both you and the environment, and completely safe for kids too! Alleged to have started in Sweden, these events combine jogging and picking up litter. They’ve also come to Cleveland, taking place on the last Wednesday of the month, June-October in South and North Collinwood.
On Wednesday June 24, met at the Waterloo Tower at Waterloo Road and East 156th, to sign in and get your cleaning supplies, gloves and hand sanitizer (wearing a mask is encouraged). Groups of 1-2 people will take different routes in the immediate area before meeting back at the Tower at 7:30 for a socially distanced group photo. The pace is slow and comfortable, so don’t worry if you’re not an in-shape runner.
Future plogs will depart from the Collinwood Rec Center (July), Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School (August), Five Points Community Center (September) and again at the Waterloo Tower (October).
