The next show presented by Photo Cleveland, an organization formed last year to bring photographers together and promote photography in Cleveland is called Intentional Unconventional: Experimental Photography and Video. Theydescribe it as an avant-garde multimedia exhibit  that invited photographers and videographers to step away from conventional narrative and descriptive storytelling and experiment with abstract, non-linear and other unconventional techniques.

In inviting submissions, they said, “We will only be accepting images that are non-traditional in their approach, as well as ones where the creator thought outside of the box with their work. When we say non-traditional, we don’t speak in terms of subject matter, but rather in terms of the way the image was created. We want to see work where the artist pushed beyond traditional methods.”

Now that show is opening on Saturday August 2 at the Unhinged Lounge in Old Brooklyn, a change from the originally announced venue. The opening reception on Saturday August 1 from 6-11pm is free and open to all.
