Cleveland Rocks: Past Present Forum has been presenting musician workshops at its Waterloo Arts District location for several years, but now it’s moving them around to make them more accessible to the horde of local musicians who might be looking for advice on how to improve their band or music and how to handle the business of being a professional musician.
On the heels of a recent workshop at The SixtySix at the Midtown Collaboration Center, it’s moving west to Visible Voice Books’ new Ohio City location for “The Hunt for Harmonies: How to Find Your Line.”
Two members of the local band Moon Echo Garden, Meganne Stepka and Kate Hart, will talk about learning to sing harmony, a skill that will make a musician infinitely more valuable to any band. They’ll share some simple strategies and have attendees practice them — it’s hands-on so you can get the feel of it and not just listen to them demonstrate.
As with the workshops on Waterloo, it will be followed by a 2×4 songwriter showcase where four songwriters will perform two songs each: songwriters to be announced. It’s free and open to all. Go HERE to RSVP. Come early and buy books.
