Help Remove Trash From Big Creek and Rocky River Watersheds
See how pretty it is without trash

Sat 6/6 @ 9AM-noon

Hey people! Stop throwing your trash everywhere! It’s on my last nerve. Sadly, if you do a lot of walking, even in natural areas, you’re going to find bottles, fast food wrappers and more, strewn everywhere. And tires — so many tires. So until people wise up, there will be a need for cleanup such as the ones this weekend hosted by Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) for the 27th year.

There will be two: the Big Creek Watershed Cleanup and the Rocky River Watershed Cleanup, where volunteers will pick up streamside trash. To take part, meet at one of the locations at 8:45. For Big Creek, join the group at Brookfield park, the Brookyln Fire Department or the Snow Road Picnic Area along Big Creek Partway. For the Rocky River cleanup, meet at the Emerald Necklace Marina Scenic Park Picnic Area.

Wear long sleeves and pants as well as heavy, closed-toe shoes; they’ll provide trash bags and gloves. Volunteers are encouraged to wear long sleeves and pants, boots or work shoes are. Kids under 18 are welcome — get them in the habit of despising trash early! — but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Get complete information about the trash pickups here. Registration is appreciated but not required.
