Cain Park Arts Fest Opens for its 49th Year

Fri 7/10 @ 3-8PM

Sat 7/11 @ 10AM-8PM

Sun 7/12 @ 11AM-5PM

Each year for nearly a half century, the leafy paths of Cleveland Heights’ Cain Park is lined with tents on the second weekend in July. Underneath them is the work of hundreds of artists who have converged from across the county (and across the street) for the juried art show, now in its 49th year. You’ll find virtually every medium ranging in style from fun pop culture-influenced to deeply personal fine art, from screenprint posters of Cleveland landmarks to massive stone sculptures, from photos of docked rowboats to abstract paintings.

There’s live entertainment in the Evans Amphitheater, with Bill March and his Sixties Soul Review from 3:30-5:15pm and the Brute Squad from 5:45-7:30pm Friday; the Chris Burge Trio from noon-2pm, the Barbara Knight Quartet from 2:45-4:30pm, and Ron David and the WKHR Jazz All-Stars from 5:30-7:30pm Saturday; and Alex Bevan and friends from 1-3pm on Sunday. In addition, the River City Puppets will be doing multiple shows in the Alma Theater Saturday,  and the Cleveland Association of Black Storytellers will perform there at 1, 2 and 3pm Sunday. If you’re more a doer than a watcher, join in helping to paint the interactive mural.

Of course, there’s food and food trucks too including Buckeye Concessions, Henry’s Creamery, Squash the Beef, M&D Tasty Creations, Ohio Farm Direct, Piccolo, Smokin Babes and Cozmic Concessions. Admission is free all weekend.
