Jazz Singer Carol Leslie Returns to the BOP STOP Live

Sat 10/2 @ 7PM

Cleveland jazz vocalist Carol Leslie returns to the BOP STOP for her first post-pandemic live show this week.

Pre-pandemic, Leslie was a regular at venues such as the BOP STOP and Nighttown, performing torch songs from the Great American Songbook, along with a mix of contemporary pop and R&B tunes.  She cites influences ranging from Ella Fitzgerald, Cleo Laine and Sarah Vaughan, to Barbra Striesand, Liza Minnelli, Diana Ross and Frank Sinatra., and even Lady Gaga. She’s got a CD called Live at the BOP STOP if you’d like to preview what you might hear: tunes ranging from Billie Holiday’s “Fine and Mellow,” to Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning,” to “The Boy from Ipanema,” to the Beatles” “We Can Work It Out.”

She’ll be joined by an outstanding ensemble of experienced local jazz musicians, including her frequent collaborator, Rock Wehrmann, on piano, along with bassist Jeffrey Slater, sax player Chris Coles, and drummer/percussions Dylan Moffitt.

Tickets for the show are $15. It will also be streamed live on the BOP STOP’s Facebook page for those not yet ready to go out (although the BOP STOP requires vaccine cards or a recent negative COVID test).  That’s free although you can make a donation to the band here.
