The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra once again celebrates the season at PlayhouseSquare’s Hanna Theatre with their own swingin’ takes on holiday favorites.

They’ll do two performances of “A Cleveland Jazz Christmas” in which it will be celebrating the upcoming release Have Yourself a Swinging Jazzy Christmas. And it will be featuring guest vocalist Nia Drummond, who won a lot of fans when she performed with CJO in their “Ella and Ellington” concert. Where’s the future of jazz coming from? The Brooklyn-born Drummond is in her early 20s. Tickets are $35-$55.

And they’ll again being doing the Jingle Bell Jazz Sunday matinee at the Hanna, a shorter, family-friendly version of the evening shows, with $10 tickets for everyone and the interactive instrument “petting zoo,” where kids can get a close look at the instruments and feel what it’s like to hold one. Watch out, mom and dad — she’s mesmerized by that shiny trumpet and already planning to add it to next year’s Hanukkah wish list.
