Put an exclamation mark on your work week by joining Max Payola, DJ Hama and DJ Rachel H at Juke Box in Ohio City’s Hingetown neighborhood for its First Friday Funk Social. The all-vinyl party will feature the hardest, grooviest most hip-shaking funk music from the 70s and 80s, including music by Rick James (pictured), the appropriately named Funkadelic, Kool & the Gang, and Ohio’s own Wild Cherry. There’ll even be music videos by some of these artists and clips from the legendary Soul Train TV show playing on the TVs. Just don’t do as much coke as James was alleged to have done; it helped lead to his premature demise!
